What is your artistic passion & how did you first discover your love for it?

My artistic has always been about things I am surrounded with; flowers, ocean, natural patterns, mandala, etc.

Art kind of runs in the family. My great grandfather was an art professor, my grandfather and father never pursued career in art but they are also very talented.

So, it’s natural that I am into art too. However, I didn’t start seeing art as a possible career until a few years ago when a few of my family members requested artworks from me.

After that, I just simply wanted to be an artist. I am still learning new things and I am still very much working towards becoming a full-time artist!

How would you describe your unique art style?

Colorful, abstract, mandala

What would 'success' look like to you with this passion of yours?

Success to me is about seeing my art pretty much everywhere!

How do you know when a piece is 'done'?

My pieces are never done, in my opinion, but when I feel like I am “crowding” my canvas, I know it’s time to stop for now.

Honestly, I just have this feeling when the painting doesn’t need anymore work.

Please share a bit about the studio / workspace you've created to work in and how that impact your progress & final product.

Still being new to being an artist, I don’t have designated area or a studio space set aside for my art.

Right now, I live in student housing. So, the space is limited. I just find a corner or space on my bedroom floor to work on my paintings.

Having little to no space does make the progress slow but it also makes me think creatively because with small spaces, I have to figure out how I am going to take progress shots or final pictures that would aesthetically pleasing to my audience.

Not having a designated area kind of makes me feel sad sometimes when I see beautiful studio spaces online but I just have to remember that one day I will have my very own beautiful art studio.

What has been your biggest struggle to getting where you want to be creatively and how did you overcome it?

Money has been a big struggle for sure. I am a full time x-ray student right now. So, I have little to no money to spare on my art adventures, unfortunately. But, whenever I have some extra cash saved up, the first thing I do is go buy more paints.

Mindset is another one. I know I want to be an artist but some days, I suffer through artist blocks and I have to force myself to be creative even when I feel like giving up.

My advise to beginners or even other fellow artists is don’t give up! Having artist blocks is normal. Sometimes, we just can’t think creatively and that’s okay. I believe our brains need a break from being creative and imaginative and just have a few days, or weeks, of normal relaxing routine.

Do you have any advice / tips for someone looking to dive deeper and pursue their own creative passion?

The only advice I can give about this is you can do it! All you have to do is believe in yourself and take the risks. They don’t have to be big risks but if you don’t try, you’ll never know if it was meant to be or not!
