Brand your product delivery & make it UNFORGETTABLE.

The brand experience is only just beginning after your customer hits “submit order.” Branded shipping materials are such a crucial part of the process, and can create a memorable and lasting impression!

High-end packaging has the power to differentiate your brand, build customer loyalty, increase sales, and might even get you some recognition on social media (people like to post about products with a good presentation!)

Your products should be packaged and presented in a way that enhances the customer experience, bringing delight and surprise with every package! Here are some great places to start in creating a unique customer experience!

Before you make it pretty...

First and foremost: make sure your product arrives in tact. If the product breaks, all the pretty packaging in the world won't save that customer experience. Include bubble wrap if needed, or go for the thicker, padded envelope to ensure their product arrives in great condition.

Outer packaging

The very first thing your customer sees is what your product comes in, whether this is a box, envelope or any other form, this is a very important first impression.

Should this box be branded with your logo, or more simplistic with just one of your brand colors? Understanding your brand is key at this point, in order to decide what fits best.

If you choose padded envelopes, pick ones that match your desired aesthetic!

Make sure the addresses are clear and legible. With that being said, it can be a fun added touch to uniquely address your product so it feels like a special delivery. If you have great handwriting, handletter the envelope! Not so great with penmanship? Print labels in your brand fonts to make things even more consistent and branded!

No matter what you choose, you want your packaging to stand out and make a lasting impression!

Inner packaging

  1. Custom tissue/packing paper with your logo. Looking for a cheap solution? Get solid color paper in your brand colors!

  2. Should you use packing peanuts, crinkle paper, foam inserts, bubble wrap, or air pillows? Which best fits your brand?

  3. Add a personal touch! A handwritten note, a personalized packing slip, anything to add some authenticity!

BRANDED STICKERS

Seal the tissue paper, decorate the box, or throw in as an extra goodie!
These can be relevant to your brand (think stars in your colors) or unique custom-made with your brand elements (like a sticker with your unique logomark).

Imagine this as the frame for your unique art piece!

It's an important part of the product presentation and shouldn't be overlooked. Be sure to include your brand name and website (so they can buy more!) You can also add social media handles, imagery that highlights that unique design, or more neutral visuals that will work with any of your pins.

Pick a thicker paper, so things feel legit and not like someone is printing and selling pins out of their basement (aka no computer paper-like stock!) You don’t need to splurge on the fanciest option, but even just a bit thicker stock can instantly upgrade your delivery experience.

Other ways to set your pin backing cards apart:

  • Rounded corners

  • Added print techniques (embossing, spot gloss, uv gloss... research or talk with your printer to see what the options are!) Don't go crazy though, only pay for those extra details if they work with and enhance your unique brand aesthetic.

PIN BACKS

If your pin is 1" or bigger you will definitely want at least 2 pin backs included so it stays secure when worn or displayed.

Go the extra mile and get pin backs that match your brand colors! This added detail is easier than you’d think to start implementing – you can easily find pin backs in bulk, in every color, on Amazon.

Encourage customers to buy more!

  1. Include a discount code for customers to use on their next order.

  2. Make your shop url easy to find.

  3. Include a call-to-action and invite them to follow along on your brand’s social media journey (so they can stay in-the-know and hopefully buy more in the future!).

Get them to spread the word

Encourage customers to share their package on social media! Make this as easy as possible. For example, include the hashtag you want them to use, or the account they should tag to be sure you will see it, respond, and get the traffic!)

You could even go the extra mile and reward people for sharing their stuff. Tell them you'll provide a special discount code if they share the product online, and then make sure to follow through on this. This one-on-one connection will ensure they don't forget you or your shop! Plus, they are providing free exposure for you – it's truly a win, win!
